Concordia is a realm in Endosylvania.

People[]

The people of Concordia are deeply religious. The Elders in the inner circle worship the Seraphim as deities who would lead them to prosperity. However, the impoverished outer circle are less inclined to believe in the beneficence of these beings. One revolutionary even espouses the existence of a single deity which disapproves of the elders' worship of the Seraphim.

Characteristics[]

Basically, a citadel around which grew a town, although few of the citizens qualify to be Elders, they subscribe to the utopian ideals. In fact, the peasants have a better understanding of true brotherhood than the out-of-touch Elders.

Story[]

The Elders of Concordia have been in psychic contact with the Seraphim in their native dimension known as the Tesserect. For a long time they were exclusively the only humans to do so. This link has brought them great knowledge which they have decided will allow them to bring the world into harmony. They brought over some of the servants of the Seraphim. They modified some of them to form the homunculus Flechettes. They sent the Flechette soldiers to the King of Aetheria to use as shock troopers in his war against Effluvia.

After Effluvia surrendered, the King of Aetheria had it occupied as a vassal state. But the Concordian Elders secretly had the king assassinated, so that Ephraim Lot would be elected Regent. They also had the hard-line Controller Margrave Maxwell assassinated, so his widow Sophia would take his place as Effluvia's Ambassador to Aetheria. With their moderating influence, relations between Aetheria and Effluvia are cool instead of actively hostile.

Their next move would be to have Lot assassinated and frame Sophia. This would precipitate a full-scale war between Aetheria and Effluvia, with Concordia emerging as the only intact city-state. They would then be free to impose their dream of a utopian society on the rest of the world.

Their plans are at cross-purposes to Penumbra, whom has been in independent contact with one of the Tesserect, the one she calls "Mater Obscura." There is also the problem of Al Avrid's group getting wind of their plot and deciding to stop it themselves.
