Sects have been debating the existence of extra-physical beings for ages. There have been a number of religions which have been devoted to the following eight beings in some manner or another.
The Unnamed God[]
A divine being whose name and history are unknown, worshippers of this deity are random in their behavior, having no clear idea how to venerate the god. It has been argued by some that this being represents chaos in its purest form.
The Foreign Gods[]
The following three gods each have been encountered and even battled by warriors.
Solaris the God of Light[]
The representation of suns, stars, and all light in the universe, Solaris is also referred to as Procel and is worshiped by those who have faith in good and hope for the future. Solarans typically behave well toward others but are not pushovers.
His physical incarnations are Azurel and later Harriet Baronsik.
Lunaria the God of Darkness[]
Called also Casik the Night God, Lunaria is worshiped by cultists, liars, thieves, and people who believe there is always something frightening hidden behind what little the light reveals.
His physical incarnations are Raiden and later Casik Baronsik.
Thanatos the God of Death[]
Often mistaken for Casik the Night God, Thanatos is observed mostly by necromancers and other people who have experienced death.
His physical incarnations are Hel and later Amistha.
The Tretheon[]
The following three gods have primarily been worshipped by Effluvians and it is unclear whether they have been entirely fabricated.
Karthax the God of War[]
Worhiped primarily by Effluvian warriors who celebrate him by sacrificing their enemies on the fields of battle. When they fail to take injury during a battle, they will mark themselves with a brand or blade.
A common utterance heard is "in the name of Karthax."
Karthax means "avalanche" or "to stir the snow".
Bethesis the Goddess of Mercy[]
An Effluvian goddess worshiped by the lower castes and pacifists, many of whom do not get along with Karthacians.
The most common prayer to this deity is "Bethesis, bless us."
Bethesis means "home."
Shirion the Goddess of Balance[]
Often commonly if incorrectly referred to as the Goddess of Order, Shirion is venerated most usually by those in power and other elitists. She should be celebrated by ensuring the equality of people and other elements but instead, those idolizing her use their religious views as an excuse to lord over others with their wealth and standing.
The prayer spoken by her woshipers is something like "praise be to..."
Shirion loosely translates as shir "lion" + rion "king."
The One True God[]
An unknown deity worshiped by Aetherians for unknown reasons. Some, such as the Acolytes of the Sept, later come to associate this god with Aesar, a name used throughout much of Riene's history to describe god or gods.
